We were blown away by the stunning location of Shore Cottage. There are incredible views of the sea and cliffs from almost every window and the sounds of the waves can be heard even from inside. The cottage is well equipped and rooms are spacious. We enjoyed a wonderful walk to Durdle Door and had a trip to the island of Portland, and a tour of the lighthouse. Highly recommend, even in November, when the cottage protected us from Storm Ciaran.

A really decent sized house to keep you cool in summer, or all tucked up inside in colder weather. Direct access to the Coast path, so amazing dog walks, (very dog friendly house, even rabbits for them to sniff after). Easy access to a great beach, such clear water. And the evenings you have the beach to yourselves. Wildlife and nature everywhere. Superb kitchen facilities, large fridges and freezers. Practically furnished for a beach/walking/relaxing holiday, what ever the weather, and the mattresses are so good. We will be back if we can find a vacant week!

Absolutely out of this world. We could not have found a better place to spend our Christmas. I cannot fault Shore Cottage. We were all so sad to leave. Simon was approachable and helpful. Hopefully we can return again soon.

Our stay was absolutely, truly wonderful, we couldn't have wished for anything more! We swam in the sea every day and cooked outdoors each morning and evening in the gorgeous garden overlooking the cliffs and the coastline; we were also blessed with a full moon and the most amazing weather. We could have been anywhere in the world, but we were less than an hour from home! The cottage was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed; a good selection of equipment and good quality crockery and glassware. The master bedroom was totally divine with 3 windows and a patio door to the balcony. The icing on the cake for me, was a bathtub, very relaxing after the long coastal walks; 5 miles to Lulworth and an easy stroll to the Smugglers Inn. Also, a short drive to Dorchester if you have guests arriving by train. The garden loungers were an added bonus and used by all; take an umbrella if you need some shade in the garden, or move the furniture under the tree by the shed - we also took our own picnic/beach chairs. Would highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely return. Simon, the host, was extremely helpful from the very start of the booking, dealing with any queries within a few hours - super, super cottage and one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in.

This must be one of the few houses on the Jurassic coast to have such a view and easy access to an unspoilt beach. Not only is the location great but the design of the house makes the most of the 360 degree vistas. The only downside of being so surrounded by the natural coast is the access via an increasingly narrow and then short unmade road. All this forgiven when you breath the sea air and crunch your way along the pebbly and remarkably clean beach. The changing light on the cliffs at White Nothe and the sea were different each day. The local walks were excellent and once through the gates and onto major roads, all the great Dorset landmarks (including Portland Bill, Maiden Castle, Durdle Door and Lulworth) are in easy reach.

We’ve just had another fantastic week at Shore Cottage. What a gem! We rarely go back to the same place twice, but we’ve already booked for next year because the whole family love it so much. Brilliant walks in all directions from the house, along the beach or the coast path to Durdle Door in one direction and the Smugglers Inn in the other. We spend a lot of time just sitting in the loungers on the lawn with the fantastic view of the sea, the horizon stretching in both directions. Sitting there in the sun, the sea was azure and we actually felt like we were in the Mediterranean! The beach is good for swimming too, the water is often clear and calm. If it’s not warm enough to sit outside then the conservatory is just as good, but it always seems to be sunny there. The house feels private and quite secluded and we never want to get in the car to go anywhere else once we’ve arrived. Thank you so much Simon for being such a great host.

Shore Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. The setting is amazing - a lovely, clean stone beach accessed from the garden plus a 12k return walk to Durdle Door (with kids in tow!) and a 30 minute walk to a really nice pub in Osmington Mills “The Smugglers Inn”, once again on the coastal path. We really enjoyed this unique place. The cottage was spotless and the kitchen well equipped. Truly recommend.

Shore Cottage is simply amazing - just loved our weekend stay. Brilliantly appointed with everything you need, and with the beach less than 50m from the garden, beach walks were just delightful (though access to/from beach is a little tricky as understandably no steps). Can’t wait to stay again. Simon was a star, so welcoming and accommodating.

We couldn’t recommend Shore Cottage more highly, fantastic property with gorgeous direct seaviews perfect for seaside getaways whatever the season. Situated in the quiet hamlet of Ringstead down a private National Trust lane on the south west coastal path you couldn’t ask for more. The cottage has everything you need for a fantastic break, we have admired from afar for many years and it matched all expectations, we will be back!

You are in for a treat! It looks great in the photos, but it's even better in reality. Shore Cottage enjoys a unique location, right on the beach with the sea lapping the edge of the garden, and surrounded by stunning countryside, which offers plenty of great walking. We stayed there in the winter so had the beach pretty much to ourselves, and we were lucky enough to experience the most fabulous sunrise. We took our elderly parents (in their 80s and 90s) who enjoyed sitting in the conservatory watching the ships in and out of Portland, whilst we walked the dogs. Shore Cottage suited us all. It was warm and homely; light and airy. It is no exaggeration to say there are incredible views from every window. We loved it.

We really did have a fantastic weekend break. Everything we wanted it to be. From the first contact, the process was smooth and worry free. The video on the website homepage was spectacular and it was hard to imagine that the reality would be just as good. IT IS! Long walks in the hills or along the beach. Cosy return to the cottage. Relax and enjoy. What more could you want!

Shore Cottage gets a 10/10 from my family! The absolute beauty of the location, the placement of the house, the garden and views are second to none. Shore Cottage had everything you could need, it is home from home. The dogs loved the path down to the beach and exploring the garden. Simon the host was very informative, checked we were ok after arrival and said we could contact him whenever we needed too. Which we didn’t of course as we already had everything we needed. The wildlife was amazing to watch and the views always changing. Once again thank you from us for a lovely stay and hope to return soon.

Shore Cottage is in a beautiful location with stunning views from every room. It is right on the south west coast path and the private access to Ringstead Bay was amazing. Perfectly located also for Lulworth Cove, Dorchester and Weymouth, the house was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We would definitely return!

Absolutely stunning scenery, views incredible from most windows. The cottage is visible prominently from the peak of White Nothe so really makes it more of a landmark. Lovely kitchen and spacious dinning room. The balcony (safe) is another bonus when you wake up and slide back the patio door to take in the air and view. A small descent to the beach in under 30 seconds was the highlight for me. Lovely and cosy, only 10 mins to get back to main road. Owner very quick to respond to any questions. Great holiday! So many places to go and visit we’ll need to return many more times.

Pictures and descriptions don’t quite prepare you for quite how stunning Shore Cottage is. It is in a beautiful location, the stunning sea views from almost every window are quite breath taking. The cottage is large and welcoming with good sized bedrooms and living space all decorated nicely. Simon the host kept in touch regularly before our stay and promptly provided all the information we could wish for, along with some lovely welcome goodies. What a great host. The area is equally beautiful, Ringstead Bay is quiet and the beach great for the kids and dog. Energetic walks in all directions and so much to explore in the area. Simply amazing!

We have stayed in holiday lets all over the British isles and Shore cottage is up their with the best of them. The cottage is in a fantastic location with great views from every window and was nicely laid out for a very comfortable stay. This part of Dorset is very picturesque and Shore cottage was ideal base to make the most of it. We shall return.

We had the most amazing week staying in Shore Cottage. It has everything you need and more. Waking up to the beautiful views every morning was blissful. The garden is perfect and you benefit from your own private path which leads to the pebble beach. We will be returning next year and we can't wait! Thank you Simon for sharing your house with us.

Having stayed in many house rentals over quite a few years I now know exactly what I'm looking for and quite frankly this was it! Shore Cottage has a really great location. The beach is on your doorstep and when we visited at Easter we had it entirely to ourselves which the dog absolutely loved (having sneaked off a couple of times to play!). From here you can easily travel into Weymouth or drive out to some of the local beauty spots. The main bedroom has a balcony which is great for sitting out on to enjoy a cup of tea first thing in the morning and there's a small café/shop nearby if you run out of milk. Simon - if you're ever thinking about selling up, let me know!

We loved our mini break at your fab seaside home. Brilliant location if you like seclusion, proper dark nights and amazing walks/runs. Amazing walks, secluded yet close enough to "things to do". The house was really well equipped - I was worried it might be chilly in Feb but the storage heaters do the job. House is very well equipped with all the home comforts you might need. We would love to come back again.

Simon's house is a wonderful retreat in an absolutely amazing spot! The views are phenomenal and it is so peaceful. Shore Cottage is perfectly located on the coastal path and right in the middle of the Jurassic Coast for exploring all the wonderful sea-side towns and fabulous beaches. We saw lots of wildlife in the garden, including a kestrel on the lawn! It's only a matter of metres down onto Ringstead Bay and the views of the sun rising and setting every day were spectacular! The house is well equipped and was scrupulously clean with plenty of space for the four of us. We stayed in February and it was lovely and cosy. Simon & Deanna were excellent hosts. Even though we booked with only a few days notice, everything was ready for us, including some thoughtful welcome treats! The communication was excellent and checking in was very easy, even though we arrived extremely late. We would definitely recommend this house and the hosts, and would love to stay again.

Shore cottage is such a beautiful place to stay and we were astounded this year to spot deer in the garden! We had beautiful weather, perfect for the coast walk to Durdle Door and back. We would definitely like to book again for next year.

We stayed in Shore Cottage and had the most fantastic time, it's so close to the sea you can almost touch it, in a beautiful part of Dorset close to everything but quiet and unspoilt - the perfect family holiday home.

Glorious views from the garden. Pebbly beach and clear water made the swimming perfect if cold. Dog friendly so our Jack Russell had a great time. House was clean and comfortable and you felt you had your own private bit of beach. Very memorable and will visit again.
